The main challenge of this residential project was integrating a house into a natural environment with rugged topography, maximizing views and natural light while preserving the sense of openness and connection with the landscape through a design that minimized visual impact.

STRATEGY

The Lookout House is located on the outskirts of Valencia in a natural environment where the topography of the plot, the views, and the light have been key elements in its design and conception.
The project is defined by a single volume that is inserted and adapts to the steep slope of the plot, thus reducing its visual impact and integrating it into the surrounding natural landscape.
The interior spaces of the house are organized and developed, always seeking a direct relationship with natural light and outdoor spaces. The main areas of the house extend physically and visually towards the natural environment, which is framed through large openings that enhance the sensation of openness and transparency.
The landscape design has been an integral part of the project, almost naturally becoming an extension of the spaces of the house.

SOLUTION

The entire project is developed under a roof that acts as a large lookout overlooking the imposing natural context and allowing for expanding the visual boundaries of the plot. This space becomes one of the main protagonists of the house, creating a place for gathering, relaxation, and contemplation.
The color and texture, combined with its great durability over time, were the main reasons for choosing exposed concrete as the material to provide the character and appropriate presence that this project needed.
Inside, the decision was made to create a warm materiality using cherry oak wood, natural stone, and ceramic floors. The use of these materials extends from the interior to the exterior, enhancing this relationship and creating a sense of a unique and continuous space between both areas.

El principal desafío de este proyecto residencial fue la integración de una vivienda en un entorno natural con topografía abrupta, maximizando las vistas y la luz natural, mientras se preservaba la sensación de apertura y conexión con el paisaje a través de un diseño que minimizara el impacto visual.

ESTRATEGIA

La Vivienda Mirador se ubica a las afueras de Valencia en un entorno natural donde la topografía de la parcela, las vistas y la luz han sido elementos claves en su diseño y concepción.

El proyecto se define a partir de un único volumen que se inserta y adapta al acentuado desnivel que presenta la parcela, reduciendo así su impacto visual e integrándose en el paisaje natural circundante.

Los espacios interiores de la vivienda se organizan y desarrollan buscando en todo momento una relación directa con la luz natural y los espacios exteriores. Las áreas principales de la vivienda se extienden física y visualmente hacía el entorno natural el cual queda enmarcado a través de grandes huecos que consiguen potenciar la sensación de apertura y diafanidad.

El diseño del paisajismo ha formado parte integral del proyecto, consiguiendo convertirse, casi de forma natural, en una extensión de los espacios de la vivienda.

SOLUCIÓN

Todo el proyecto se desarrolla bajo una cubierta que actúa como un gran mirador que se asoma al imponente contexto natural y que permite expandir los límites visuales de la parcela. Este espacio se convierte en uno de los grandes protagonistas de la vivienda, generando un lugar de encuentro, relajación y contemplación.

El color y la textura, sumado a la gran capacidad de conservación a lo largo del tiempo, fueron las razones principales por las que se optó por el hormigón visto como material que consiguiera aportar el carácter y la presencia adecuada que este proyecto necesitaba.

En el interior se ha optado por generar una materialidad cálida mediante el uso de madera de roble de cerejeira, piedra natural y pavimentos cerámicos. El uso de estos materiales se extiende desde el interior al exterior potenciando esta relación y creando una sensación de espacio único y continuo entre ambos ámbitos.
